Big Bad Thai is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary dream brought to life by Nelly from Serbia and his wife Apple from north-eastern Thailand. Their journey began in the idyllic setting of Koh Phangan, where they met and discovered a shared passion for Thai cuisine and a vision to create something extraordinary.
They decided to bring the authentic flavors of Thailand to the enchanting shores of El Nido, Palawan, and thus, Big Bad Thai was born.
Apple's love for cooking started at a tender age. At just 11 years old, she began learning the art of Thai cooking from her mother, mastering family recipes that had been passed down through generations. These early experiences ignited a passion in Apple that has only grown stronger over the years. She brings this deep-rooted love and dedication to every dish she prepares at Big Bad Thai, ensuring that each meal is a celebration of Thai culinary heritage.
In 2017, Nelly and Apple turned their dream into reality by opening Big Bad Thai Restaurant. Their vision was to create a dining experience that seamlessly blends traditional Thai flavors with the natural beauty of El Nido.
